Meghann’s Story of Love in Action
One of the greatest tools we have to combat addiction and drug related deaths is love and belonging, but not just to those who say they want recovery or are in recovery. We need to include all those who struggle with their relationship to substances, regardless of proximity to recovery. Otherwise, we leave behind millions of people whose suffering could be eased with love and support, and we overlook the population who is dying the most – people actively using drugs.
The story of Eileen is a great example of the difference love can make when we stop predicating it on a person’s desire to change.
This is love in action.
